These dogs and puppies are just so sweet together.
THE SEVEN DWARF PUPPIES
I was flipping through a bunch of puppy pictures when I thought "Oh - what a SLEEPY little guy." And I kept flipping. And then I saw one that made me think "Wow - he looks GRUMPY." And I kept flipping. Until I saw one that made me say "What a HAPPY dog." And I kept flipping. Should I go on or are you catching my drift. So here they are - just for fun - the Seven Dwarf Puppies!
LINE UP TO EAT LINE UP TO SLEEP AND LINE UP TO . . .
|
When you're very young and just learning to eat it's really convenient to do so while sprawled out and relaxed. But when you get even older those lines for the rest room just seem to be never ending! |
And when you get a bit older, have filled your little belly and played until your heart is content, well you never know where you might be when you need a nap. |
WHAT ARE THESE PETS TRYING TO DO - I CAN ONLY GUESS
SO HERE ARE MY GUESSES
WHY DOGS WILL BE HAPPY WHEN THIS WINTER IS OVER
There faces and activities say it all! There's nothing I need to add.
RUDY - ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL RESCUE
|
Rudy, a.k.a. Rue, is a five year old Beagle mix. I became aware of Rue and his story as he belongs to friends' of my son. And my son and his girlfriend had the opportunity to dog sit him for the past week. But his story is one of fate!
He came into a shelter when he was only a few weeks old. We really don't know the details of his arrival, whether or not he was surrendered, or if he came in alone or with his litter. But somehow he found himself in the shelter. Unfortunately his 'kill' date came upon him very quickly. But some of the workers at the shelter felt bad that such a cute little boy was to have had such a short and lonesome life. So they managed to extend the time he was able to remain in the shelter. They really felt that being so young and so cute he was very adoptable - he just needed a bit more time. Well it came down to his last day and as luck would have it a young lady happened to come into the shelter and fall in love with him. He's been in his forever home ever since. Rue's favorite treats are bacon bits and carrots. And although he loves to be taken for a nice long walk or play with a water bottle, you might notice from the pictures, his favorite pastime seems to be snuggling (also known as sleeping). |
THIS IS SHILA
Shila is a Chow/Shepherd mix who was born April 1, 2007. She was adopted into her forever home in West Milford NJ at 10 weeks of age through Paws and Claws Humane Society. She was very shy and timid on arriving in her new home. Her humans took her to new puppy training with a well established NNJ trainer and NJ Search and Rescue canine director. Shila now enjoys her family of 4 humans and travels with them on camping trips from Pennsylvania to Tennessee. When home with the family she loves to go for leisurely walks, play with her beau Rusty, chase squirrels, sun herself on the deck and take long naps on the couch.
LOTS AND LOTS OF PUPPIES

Can anyone actually count the number of puppies in this basket!?!?!?!?

Meet RoShamBo - aka Rocky
Yes - this is the Boston Terrier who is also my profile picture on this site and on twitter and facebook.
The first picture is how he got his name. Always reaching out with that paw like he was ready to throw a punch - thus 'Rocky'.
The second picture - well I just think it's so cute. He's about 8 weeks old there and after running around inspecting his new yard for awhile he just laid down to take a nap.
My dogs are lucky enough to have a doggie door so they can come and go as they please. It took us quite some time to teach Rocky not to bring things in and out. As much as I didn't appreciate finding him and his newest stick on the sofa, I appreciated it even less when, each and every time I left the house for awhile, I came home to find all the doggie toys, beds and pillows outside the doggie door! Guess he wanted to be comfortable while he sunned himself in the yard!
And he really likes his creature comforts when he's in the house. Have to be careful where I leave clean blankets - he thinks they're all for his personal comfort.

Loved Rescued Dachshunds
From left to right meet Baby Bella, Mylo and Ren. These doxies were all rescued by a friend of mine. Sadly Ren and Mylo are no longer with them. After they'd been without a four legged friend for a short time and were ready to love another they adopted Baby Bella. She couldn't be in a more loving home than she is now.
Bella is also the doxie puppy featured in several of my YouTube Vids with RoShamBo the Boston Terrier. We fostered Bella for a short time while my friend got her forever home ready. Bella was so tiny - about 7 pounds - and so low to the ground that she could walk right under Rocky who was somewhat confused by that. So I had some fun with my new video camera while they chased each other around the yard.

Meet Mya
Mya is my 12 year old Boston Terrier. She is by far the most intelligent dog I have ever met. I have owned, rescued and fostered more dogs then I can count but she is truly exceptional - even beyond the intelligence expected in Boston Terriers.
In addition to supreme intelligence she has personality and energy that just won't quit. Several years ago she lost her right eye due to a medical condition. After surgery she had to wear an e-collar for about 10 days. She hated it - but it didn't slow her down for a second. In fact, when we returned to the vet for her check up the vet was stunned to see that the e-collar was no longer round. It was now a rectangle. Of course she asked me what had caused this to happen. The answer was that Mya had realized very quickly that she couldn't go in and out the doggie door normally with the collar on. It's a small door - she's a small dog! So she backed in and out so she could pull her head - complete with the collar - through the door. Eventually the e-collar took on the shape of the doggie door!
Mya will be 13 on April 4, 2011. She is slowing down quite a bit, has very limited eye site and is going deaf. But she still brings me her ball every day, tries to hop around in the snow, and barks at me if I dare to ignore her too long. That's her way of letting me know she has lots of time left!
