ADOPTION PENDING

Picture
Maverick is a very puppyish wire haired dachshund. Since he has longer legs than a normal dachshund he might be a mix; either way he is very adorable. He was found as a stray in SW VA and when no one claimed him FDR took him in. He does wonderfully with the other dogs in the foster home and likes to go for rides in the car. Since he is still a young puppy he needs to learn all of the basic rules and a dog obedience class would be recommended.

He seems to be about a year old with a chocolate wiry coat and his two front paws are white! He's working on his housebreaking but is crate trained and seems to think cats are meant to be chased!

Maverick currently reside in Virginia but Furever Dachshund Rescue encourages out of state adoptions and will assist you in finding transport. If you are interested in learning more about him please visit his personal profile page or contact his foster Mom Yolanda at doxierescuer@aol.com.

Cheesecake

ADOPTED!!!

Picture
Cheesecake is a five-month-old, female pit-bull puppy. She is very sweet and adorable like her name suggests and she is a big cuddle bug once she warms up. Cheesecake was rescued from a kill shelter and needs a second chance- after all, she is just a puppy. Cheesecake would be best in a home with dogs who are her size or larger. She needs experienced dog owners who would give her the time and attention needed to teach her doggie manners.

Do you have some concerns about this adorable puppy growing up as a member of what some call the 'Bully Breeds?' I'd like to share some important information with you. First of all, please have a look at the list of dog breeds recognized as bully breeds. Once you look at the list you might be confused. You might wonder why some of these breeds are considered bully breeds. So take a moment to learn what the term bully breed really means. And if you still have some concerns please take a moment to see how well Pit Bulls did on standard temperament testing. Their scores are better than so many popular breeds. And even if a Pit Bull is not for you, please take a few moments to review some of this information and become educated about these wonderful dogs.

Famous Fido is located in the Chicago area. If you are interested in learning more about Cheesecake or any of the other dogs cared for by Famous Fido Rescue please call 773-907-0305 or email fido@famousfidorescue.com.

My name is Cowboy. I’m a sweet 7 month old boy (at the time of this post). I was born in July of 2012. My family kept me in the backyard and in the laundry room. When they moved they weren’t able to take me. I’m learning how to be loved and how to be with a family. I get along with other dogs. I love to sit in laps and be held. I also like to sleep in the big bed and snuggle.

Cowboy weighs about 3 pounds right now and should max out at about 15 pounds when full grown.  Since he was basically kept in the yard he was not housebroken or crate trained. But he is working on it!

Cowboy currently reside in Alabama. But Furever Dachshund Rescue encourages out of state adoptions. If you are interested in learning more about him please view his personal profile or contact his foster Mom Kristen at Kristen_dawson2008@yahoo.com.

Harry and Sally

Picture
Do you remember them? Do you recognize them? They are Harry and Sally. Dachshund/Basset Hound mixes that were Puppy Bowl IX participants! And Sally was awarded the "Drive of the Day' award for her outstanding run to the goal line. What an incredible athlete!

Check them out in close ups. They are too adorable!!!

They're about 6 months old and are very bonded having spent their entire short lives playing and snuggling together. Harry is a 12 pound male and Sally is a 17 pound female and here's what their foster Mom told us about them:

Harry and Sally are two puppy stars participating in this year’s Puppy Bowl IX on Animal Planet. They love to play with other puppies, dogs, kids, and people of all kinds. Because they are puppies they have a high level of energy and extreme curiosity. They love squeaky toys, rough housing together, and playing chase throughout the house. Harry is the smaller of the two and seems to be a bit shy with people that he just meets. He usually takes his time warming up to people but once he decides that he likes you then he will be faithful forever. Sally is a bit more outgoing and very much enjoys the attention from people. Both are snuggly and loving and often share their affection with puppy kisses. They are young dachshund mixes who need a lot of attention so Harry and Sally need to be in a home with a family that has time to train and care for puppies. And they are so bonded they must be adopted by a family that will keep them together.

Harry and Sally currently reside in Vermont. But Furever Dachshund Rescue encourages out of state adoptions. If you are interested in learning more about them please view their personal profile or contact their foster Mom Laura at chair@fureverdachshundrescue.org.

Bailey

ADOPTION PENDING

Can you foster or adopt this adorable, 5-month-old, male pitbull puppy named Bailey.
Bailey is so smart and loveable! He can only stay in his foster home for a few weeks as an alternative to boarding. We still need someone to STEP UP for Baileyon a long term basis. He has only been in the foster for a few days and he is already making huge strides of progress, learning to socialize with other dogs and quickly picking up verbal commands. Bailey needs a special person who is experienced and willing to implement positive reinforcement training. Bailey has been through a lot in his short life and clearly just wants a home and some love. He needs a long term foster or permanent adoption ASAP! For more info, please call Famous Fido at 773-907-0305 or email Fido@famousfidorescue.com.
