All Dogs Welcome

Ginny

04/25/2013

UPDATED MAY 16TH: It turns out that Ginny is housebroken, crate trained and loves both people and other dogs. Our original assessment that she seemed to be afraid of other dos may have been that she was simply very nervous and frightened in the cold, scary shelter environment. But since being in foster care she has demonstrated her enjoyment of four-legged friend and would love to have a home with a playmate.

Hi my name is Ginny.  I’m a 4 year old lab/pittie mix and I desperately need a new home. Although you’d never know it from my personality, I have had a really rough life. I was used as a breeding dog and all of my babies were taken from me most likely to be used in fights. Once I was no longer useful, I was dropped off at a high –kill shelter where I suffered in a cage at the very end of the row for 3 months.  Day after day the few people who saw me just passed me by probably because of my breed when all I really wanted was someone to love me. If they would have just taken me out of my cage they would have seen that I’m just a lover, I love to lick, I love to roll over and get my belly rubbed, and I’m really smart and learned basic commands on my own. Finally though, on the day they were going to put me to sleep, my foster family agreed to get me out of there and let me live in their back yard. It’s getting hot though and I really need a home of my own. I am a little bit scared of other dogs so it’s probably best I live in a house with only one other dog or none at all. Either way, I will be your best friend. Now, when my foster family let’s me in at night, I follow them everywhere!

Do you have some concerns because this beautiful girl is a member of what some call the 'Bully Breeds?' I'd like to share some important information with you. First of all, please have a look at the list of dog breeds recognized as bully breeds. Once you look at the list you might be confused. You might wonder why some of these breeds are considered bully breeds. So take a moment to learn what the term bully breed really means. And if you still have some concerns please take a moment to see how well Pit Bull type dogs did on standard temperament testing. Their scores are better than so many popular breeds. And even if a Pit Bull is not for you, please take a few moments to review some of this information and become educated about these wonderful dogs.
Ginny is spayed, up to date on all her shots and microchipped. She weighs about 45 pounds, is very active and well behaved on the leash. Overall she's just a loving and adorable dog! If you would like to meet Ginny, or learn more about her, please contact Amy at 702-234-9860 or via email at aogden@comre.com.

Brownie is a handsome, sweet, lovable and loving, eight-month-old, 50-pound, male Pit Bull Terrier looking for a loving guardian.  Brownie is fun and playful with people as well as other dogs. He loves to play ball, and fetch. He was found as a stray, but he walks well on leash, is housebroken and already knows the commands sit and paw and takes treats gently. He is full of kisses and tail wags for everyone he meets.

ADOPTED

Picture
Morty is a gorgeous eight-month-old, male yellow lab mix. He was saved from a euthanasia shelter, but needs a permanent home to call his own. Morty has tons of energy and would enjoy a home where he is regularly exercised and given lots of attention. Morty would be best in a home without small children, small dogs, and cats. Please consider giving this handsome puppy his furever home this season. He cannot stand to be in a cage for the holidays!

Meet Jabo, Lady, Sadie, Mojo and Trixie!!!

I received the following message from the Delta Animal Clinic begging for help too find foster families for their homeless animals while the facility under goes repairs to the damage caused by the rough winter weather:

"Delta Animal Clinic is located in Rolling Fork, MS. Due to damage from flood water/wind/ice this winter to floors/roof/ceilings, repairs and/or renovations to Delta Animal Clinic will begin as soon as possible. We desperately need the homeless dogs and one cat in our care to be moved elsewhere, but we have nowhere else to house them. Any help we could get would be greatly appreciated from people willing to adopt or foster until adoption, rescue organizations willing to take them and find homes for them, transports willing to help get these dogs/cat to rescue organizations. We also need help “finding” rescue organizations or “no kill” shelters willing to consider receiving these dogs/cat. The dogs in need of help are Lady, Sadie, Mojo, and Trixie. The clinic phone number is 662-873-4049. Any help you could give us would be appreciated."

Please see below for information regarding each animal. If you are in the area and can foster or know of rescue organizations in the area that might be able to help please contact the clinic at 662-873-4049.
Tessa the Chow mix puppy has been adopted!!! Can we help the rest of these wonderful dogs find foster or adoptive families?
Meet Jabo and Tess. Jabo is an adult male yellow labrador retriever. Tess appears to be a chow mix puppy of approximately 8 - 10 weeks of age. These two were found together, possibly dumped, near the Double Quick in Rolling Fork MS. Both dogs were starving, dehydrated and covered with fleas. And Jabo had an injured leg that has now been tended to. We don't know if they were dumped together or found each other. But they are now in the care of Delta Animal Clinic and need a foster or adoptive family quickly.
Jabo was very happy to hop into the vehicle when he was found and really asks to be petted. He has clearly been someone's pet and knows love. Tess, on the other hand, was quite skittish and afraid when picked up. But after being held for a bit she fell asleep in someone's arms like the baby she is, was content when crated for the duration of her nap, and didn't shy away when a volunteer came in to remove her from the kennel. So she may have simply been frightened about being lost. She did warm up to the people at the clinic fairly quickly.
Lady was born in April 2011 and is almost 2 years old. She is very muscular and strong. She is very playful but not aggressive. She is believed to be an American Staffordshire Terrier. Lady is current on all shots and has been on heartworm preventative since she came to us. Please help us find her a good home.

Sadie appears to be a Pittie mix and has been with us about 6 months.  We have no idea how old she is, but she has had at least one litter of pups.  She arrived severely malnourished with ribs, backbone, and hip bones protruding.  Her ears were covered with sores and crusted blood from severe fly bites. She was also heartworm positive and has undergone treatment.  She has recovered nicely from the trauma and is very sweet.  She has never shown any aggression of any kind.  She just needs somebody to love her.
Mojo was born in May 2011 and is almost 2 years old. He appears to be a chocolate lab mix and was found on the side of the highway and has been with us since he was a puppy. He is sometimes afraid of loud noises outside, but other than that is a wonderful dog and would make a great pet.  He is current on all shots, has been on heartworm preventative since he was a puppy, and has been neutered.  Please help us find him a good home.

Trixie is probably a Cattle dog or Red Heeler mix. She has only been with us a short while…..she was picked up by the animal control officer in December 2012.  She’s a young dog (probably born around July 2012) and was negative for heartworms on arrival.  She is current on shots but has not been spayed.  She is very sweet, playful, and vocal.  She needs a great home!
If you are near the Rolling Fork MS area and can help in any way please contact the Delta Animal Clinic at 662-873-4049.

ADOPTION PENDING

Can you foster or adopt this adorable, 5-month-old, male pitbull puppy named Bailey.
Bailey is so smart and loveable! He can only stay in his foster home for a few weeks as an alternative to boarding. We still need someone to STEP UP for Baileyon a long term basis. He has only been in the foster for a few days and he is already making huge strides of progress, learning to socialize with other dogs and quickly picking up verbal commands. Bailey needs a special person who is experienced and willing to implement positive reinforcement training. Bailey has been through a lot in his short life and clearly just wants a home and some love. He needs a long term foster or permanent adoption ASAP! For more info, please call Famous Fido at 773-907-0305 or email Fido@famousfidorescue.com.

Peanut

12/28/2012

Courtesy post for Wagging Dog Rescue

Peanut is a soft and beautiful German Shepherd mix. She is house broken and crate trained, loves people and other dogs. But we're not sure how she feels about cats.

Peanut is considered a special needs gal as she has a condition called idiopathic epilepsy. Don't get nervous! It simply means that she is inclined to have seizures but the disorder can be controlled with daily medication.

Peanut wanted to let you know more about herself so she wrote this little bio for you to read:

Hi! My name's Peanut.

I'm a super sweet, beautiful 3 year old gal who seems to be a German Shepherd mix. I'm mixed into a petite package at only 46 pounds. I have the cutest face complete with forehead wrinkles and a widow's peak! I also have the most luxurious soft fur coat in golden tan and black. I'm great with kids and I just LOVE other dogs. My foster parents say I'm a really good house pet.

About 8 or 9 months ago I started having seizures, and then my family abandoned me. They were going to dump me at the shelter where I probably would not have made it out. However, my luck changed and Wagging Dog Rescue and a Good Samaritan helped me to get better, and now I am ready for a Furever Home with a loving and responsible family to call my own. I have already seen the rescue vet, and he says I have idiopathic epilepsy, something that quite a few dogs get, it turns out.

I'm a really good girl and I know somebody is going to be very lucky to have me. I will make a great addition to just about any caring family, and it would be so nice to have another doggie companion for me to play with in my Forever Home. Everyone who meets me falls madly in L♡VE, and I have lots of love to give in return. Do you think I could give it to you?? Do you have room in your life for the sweetest nut around?

Please email The Rescue Lady at info@waggingdog.org if you'd like to meet me! I'm current on my vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Application, home visit, adoption fee and contract required. Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego counties. I am being fostered in OCEANSIDE CA.

UPDATE:  DEXTER ADOPTED
Hi, I am Dexter.  I am a handsome Shepherd/Shar Pei/Lab mix.  I like to play tug-o-war with my leash. I have a big booming bark that means I want attention. I am great with all sizes of dogs, puppies included as long as they aren't dominant dogs. I wound up at the shelter because my owner could not care for me anymore (for reasons unrelated to me).

To learn more about adopting Dexter please visit his personal profile page or contact City Dogs Rescue at Adopt@CityDogsRescueDC.org and ask about Dexter.
