ADOPTED!!!

Meet Zazu! He's a 6 year old, 6 pound, male, short haired Chihuahua. If he could write his own personal ad he'd say:  "Mature male chihuahua seeking a lap to lay on and owners to LOVE!… that would be Zazu's personal ad if he could make one.."
Zazu's foster home told us the following about him:

He is such a SWEETHEART! At first, he takes a while to warm up to new people but after some patience, he is proving to be a very loving little dog. He is house-trained and crate-trained. As he is still warming up a bit, he stays in his crate by choice a lot but loves to be held in your lap. He will come up to you and sit by you where he's most comfortable. Zazu is mostly quiet, but will alert bark. He walks well on a leash but doesn't need to go on a walks as he doesn't have a ton of energy. Zazu barked at the cat at first and is still learning how to live with one but he is a fast learner and responds quickly to correction. He gets along great with the other dogs in the house. He is just a sweet little dog that would love to have a home where he will be loved.

If you are interested in adopting Zazu please visit the PUP Dog Rescue Adoption page to learn more or apply.

Timothy Green is a happy, friendly, fun, and energetic, seven-year-old, 14-pound, male, Chihuahua mix looking for a loving guardian to foster or adopt him.
Timothy was rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control, after being abandoned there after being diagnosed as an epileptic. He is a super cute boy who takes treats gently from your fingers and enjoys wiggling around and going on walks. He’s a well-mannered little fellow happy to hang out with other dogs, play or snuggle in his dog bed, chewing on bones.Timothy needs an experienced dog loving home without small children to continue his training. Tim is very food motivated and will make someone a very happy companion, but he can be nippy at times. To foster or adopt Timothy, please contact Famous Fido Rescue at 773-907-0305 or email Fido@famousfidorescue.com.

Diamond and Dex

Meet Diamond and Dex! Diamond is a beautiful female fawn Chihuahua and Dexter (center) is a handsome nine-year-old, five-pound, teacup Chihuahua. These babies are very attached and need to find their forever home together. They were split up once and they were both so miserable that they had to be reunited.
Diamond is four years old and weighs ten pounds. Besides being pretty, Diamond enjoys playing with other dogs, especially Dex, and being showered with attention. She is a little princess and deserves to be treated like one. Diamond also loves to talk and is very intelligent.

Dexter has a beautiful black and tan coat and big ears make him look like a tiny german shepherd. He loves to be carried around and gets along nicely with other dogs. Since he is a senior, Dex prefers to have a calmer environment and may get crabby when over-stimulated. He would be best in a mature home. By the way, you might be interested in learning the 'Top Ten Reasons to Adopt a Senior Dog.' Yoi might be surprised how rewarding it can be!

Dex and Diamond have been at Famous Fido Rescue for 9 months and they are more than ready to find a permanent home. To foster or adopt Diamond and Dex, please contact Famous Fido Rescue at 773-907-0305  or fido@famousfidorescue.com.

Shelby

Picture
Shelby is a one year old Chiweenie (Dachshund + Chihuahua mix). She was rescued from a high kill shelter in South Carolina where she lived outside with other dogs and did not have human contact. Due to that fact, Shelby is very timid and scared of a lot of things. She has come a long way in the months she has been in her foster home but would need a very special home that could continue to make her feel comfortable in her environment. Shelby loves other dogs and even cats. She loves to play with her other fursiblings – both cats and dogs!! Once Shelby warms up to a family she will love you but it will take time and patience. Shelby will do best in a low key home without lots of people in and out. Although if people do visit she is friendly. But Shelby would not do well in a home with young, active children. She MUST go to a home with other dogs – the more, the better!!! Shelby is still trying to learn leash walking but with her being so timid she can only be adopted to a home with a fenced in yard. She deserves to have a home of her. A place that she will grow and learn that everyone loves her and that she doesn’t have to be afraid

If you are interested in leaning more about Shelby please view her personal profile or contact her foster Mom Kristi at krimar1@sc.rr.com.

ADOPTION PENDING

Thad is a handsome little Chiweenie who is 7 months old at the time of this post. He is neutered, crate trained, and working on his house breaking - but he's only a puppy! He has a beautiful red and brown smooth coat and is a tiny little guy at just 8 pounds.  He does well in the company of other dogs but has not really been around cats or young children.
Thad's foster mom wrote the following bio about him:
Thad is cute little Chiweenie -  a small sweetie!

We are unsure of his care before the shelter, but he seems to be quiet the snuggler! He is energetic at times and loves to go for a ride! He does ok on a leash, but we are working on this! He is going outside for most of his bathroom needs but has accidents sometimes! He does like to bark and sometimes chases after larger dogs! (small dog syndrome)!! He does pretty well with small dogs! He has not had a problem with one small dog yet! I can’t say how good he is with small kids but the little girl that lives next door (approx. 2yrs old) comes to the fence and pets him through the fence! He sits there and lets her do it! I am working on socializing him but he will need someone to have patience with him on this! He does get jealous of other animals sometimes! He couldn’t stand for me to pet my lab instead of him but I think he will do fine in a house with another dog.. cats really unsure of this because he hasn’t been around any! He loves to go OUTSIDE! I have a fenced yard and he stays out there for a good while sometimes! I will update as soon as I can think of more to write!
If you are interested in adopting Thad please visit his personal profile page or email his foster Mom, Courtney at cpg0002@auburn.edu for more information.
Out of State adopters are welcome but Furever Dachshund Rescue does not ship animals.  Please contact them about volunteer or paid transport options!
