ADOPTED

Trixie is a precious, red dapple, 11 year old, female Doxie who just wants to cuddle and be loved.  As Doxies go she's a bit of a big girl at 25 pounds!

Do you have concerns about adopting an older dog? Have a look at the Top Ten Reasons to Adopt a Senior Dog.  It's a very rewarding decision! Plus, Trixie is  eligible for the Seniors Loving Seniors program
Trixie's foster mom wrote the following bio about her:

Miss Trixie is an adorable older lady. Pictures of her do not do her justice. She loves to lie in the sun and have her belly rubbed. Trixie is the Queen of the Household and sometimes is called Her Royal Highness. Trixie is the first and last in line for treats. She likes other dogs but would rather be by herself and not share her person. She would do best in a home where she could be the only dog. She prefers to be treated like the Queen she is but truly loves people. Trixie walks great on a leash and would do great in home that had a big back yard or a small apartment. She gladly greets people and allows them to touch her and pick her up. She is not that friendly with other dogs! If you can give Trixie the furever home she deserves, please fill out an adoption application today!

If you are interested in adopting Trixie please visit her personal profile page or email her foster Mom, Yolanda at

ADOPTED!!!

They named her Jewel, they said, because she has a heart of gold!

She is a 3 year old Chiweenie, that's a Dachshund and Chihuahua mix.  Though she does look like the Doxie genes won!  She is a tiny little girl at a mere 8 lbs. who loves dogs and likes to chase cats - playfully that is.
Her foster mom must think the world of her because here's what she had to say:

Jewell is a very special little darling, small and gentle at only 8 pounds.  She was left at a shelter because her back was injured. Apparently, discarded like trash, with no thought to her feelings or concern as to what would become of her.    Under these circumstances, there was no way to know how long she has had this injury.  So our veterinarian suggested conservative treatment, rest, steroids, pain meds, and plenty of love.  Jewell is doing better, but would benefit from a home were her people were home much of the day, where she could be offered regularly water therapy, and given time to heal.  She can run and play at this point, though her gait is funny, her desire is great!  Her exercise is still quite limited per her veterinarian.  But she is gaining strength daily.

If you have been looking for a darling, to love you, to be your best friend, and then look no further, Jewell is a sweet bundle of love, waiting to be enfolded into her forever home.  She is fairly house trained, but has difficulty controlling her urine.  When she has to go, she really has to go… She does use the doggie door here when she is able.  If you a patient, kind and caring person, who can give this little sweetheart the life she deserves, please fill out an adoption application today to give her a furever home!

Picture
This stylish little lady is a Shepherd mix of about 3 years of age.  The rescue believes she is likely an Anatolian Shepherd / Basenji mix. According to Pawsibilities she is a real "Man's" dog. She loves children and men, gets along with other girls but would rather hang out with the guys. She knows exactly what she wants and she goes for it. Linda could care less if you bought her a new gift or gave her an old tree stump to chew on (true story) All she asks for is a good walk, a nice 5 foot high fenced in yard to drag her tree stump around and maybe a truck ride here and there or just some of your attention.

If you are interested in learning more about Linda please visit her personal profile page or contact Pawsibilities Rescue at pawsibilities@ymail.com. Pawsibilities is a foster based rescue program only with no physical facility.  They are currently full and in need of Fosters and Adopters. Chiwi the Chiweenie!  Need I say anymore - just look at these pix.  By the way, a Chiweenie is a Dachshund / Chihuahua mix. If I didn't already have a houseful I'd go get her myself. She's about 3 years old and a whopping 10 lbs, with a pretty red and boar smooth coat. She is completely house broken but since she has not been kenneled in her foster home we're not really sure how she would react to one. She likes dogs and ignores cats and, again, we're not really sure how she feels about young children since she isn't living with any.
Here's what her foster mom wrote about her:

Chiwi is a very sweet Dachshund/Chihuahua mix.  She is very outgoing and never seems to meet a stranger.  She loves to chew on her rawhide twist or cow hoof.  More than anything, Chiwi loves to chase and retrieve a ball, bone, stuffed animal, etc.  She is a very high energy dog, and will literally chase and retrieve an object until my arm is tired.  I threw a tennis ball for her to retrieve for 2 hours, I stopped because I was tired…Chiwi wanted to keep going!

She loves mealtime!  I feed her 3/8 cup of Taste of the Wild High Prairie dry formulation twice daily. I do generously give treats such as Evo’s grain free treats and Charlee Bears.  I also leave cow hooves and Nylabones for Chiwi and her companions to chew on.

Chiwi is very active.  She gets extremely excited when I come home from work each day.  She watches out the window with another foster dog as I approach the door, and I can see that her whole body is moving and her tail is wagging.  Chiwi barks only when she is excited or wants to go outside to potty.  She loves chewing rawhide twists and cow hooves.  She enjoys racing around the backyard sniffing everything and looking for a stick to retrieve.  I try to keep her from jumping on and off the furniture, but she is so fast that it is hard to prevent her from doing that.

Chiwi does well with my cats, Dakota and Paisley.  The cats seem to like hanging out with Chiwi.  Chiwi is a happy, high energy, extroverted dog and deserves the best possible forever home.  She would make a wonderful family addition, especially for a family that can meet the needs of a dog with so much energy. Can you give her a furever home?

If you are interested in adopting Chiwi please visit her personal profile page or email her foster Mom Cathy at
Ladycat014@hotmail.com for more information.

ADOPTED

Heidi is a senior Dachshund at a 11 years young. And that makes her eligible for the Seniors Loving Seniors Program. While her white muzzle might give away her age just look at the light and life in those eyes! She is completely house broken, is, at best, indifferent to cats and enjoys the company of other dogs. But she will not do well with young children. And oh yeah - she walks with a slight limp and her front teeth are almost completely ground down. But neither of these issues slows her down from either eating or playing!
Still have some concerns bout adopting a senior dog.  Read the Top 10 Reasons for Adopting a Senior Dog - it's so worth it.  You will get a lifetime of love!
Here's what Heidi's foster Mom had to say about her:

Heidi is a very sweet senior female Dachshund who loves to be cuddled and petted.  Heidi’s front teeth are completely worn down, but she does have intact molars.  Heidi’s tail wags constantly and she is extremely talkative.  She loves chewing rawhide twists, and the lack of front teeth does not keep her from enjoying them.  She also loves cat food, and I have to keep the cats’ food bowls out of her reach.  She enjoys running through the fallen leaves in the backyard, barking as she goes.  I don’t allow her to jump, and lift her up onto the sofa and down to the floor as needed.  I believe that Heidi has an allergy to fleas, so I feel it imperative that she be given regular flea prevention medication.

I have two cats who spend a great deal of time hanging around Heidi.  The only time Heidi becomes concerned is when one of the cats tries to share her meal.  Heidi is a little snappy if someone tries to reach in at her if she is in a cage or kennel (at the vet or traveling in a kennel) so you will have to be careful of that.  She does not do that if she is out and can greet someone on her terms.  She is a very happy dog and deserves the best possible forever home.  If I didn’t already have so many dogs of my own, I couldn’t bear to part with Heidi.  Please give Heidi a furever home to spend her senior years!

If you are interested in adopting Heidi please visit her personal profile page or email her foster Mom Cathy at Ladycat014@hotmail.com  for more information. And don't forget to look into the Seniors Loving Seniors Program.
